The temple was originally constructed in 1801 by Laxman Vithu and Deubai Patil. The idol has four arms (Chaturbhuj) holding a lotus, an axe, a modak, and a mala (rosary). The sanctum is crowned with a gold-plated dome, and the wooden doors to the sanctum are intricately carved with images of the Ashtavinayak (the eight manifestations of Ganesha).

The Siddhivinayak Temple is not only a religious site but also a cultural symbol of Mumbai. It is believed that praying to Siddhivinayak brings prosperity, removes obstacles, and grants wishes. The temple is especially crowded on Tuesdays, which is considered an auspicious day for worshipping Lord Ganesha.

The temple is the focal point of grand celebrations during Ganesh Chaturthi, the festival dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Devotees flock to the temple in large numbers, and special prayers and events are organized during the 10-day festival.

  • Morning: 5:30 AM - 12:15 PM
  • Afternoon: 12:15 PM - 7:20 PM
  • Evening: 7:20 PM - 9:50 PM
  • Tuesday: Special darshan from 3:15 AM - 12:30 AM (next day)
